Microblading is a fully customized & bespoke, hand drawn, semi permanent, eyebrow solution. It is especially perfect for a range of eyebrow types, from sparse, over pluked, over waxed, and thinning eyebrows to fuller eyebrows, needing more definition. It is ideal to cover scars and gaps, define shape, create an arch, and fill in the brows. Combining Microblading  with a powder, or ombre effect is also a beautiful solution for many brow types. Eyebrow microblading is a manual method of depositing a small amount of ink in the outer layer of the skin, reaching only the top of the dermis. Unlike traditional eyebrow tattooing, the needle used in manual microblading is 3 times thinner than the one used in a machine, which allows to create very fine, crisp hair strokes that do not blur after healing.

If you are interested in microblading, but unsure if it is for you, please book a complimentary consultation session below. During your consultation, we will speak about the different brow options, and draw your new brows with pencil to get an idea of how your new microbladed brows will look.

A full microblading treatment requires two sessions before achieving the final result. Below are the two steps to be expected in your first session.

Your First Session

Step One: Determining + Drawing the Brows of your Dreams

The first step of this process is the brow consultation. I encourage you to bring in pictures of different eyebrow shapes that you admire, so that together, we can discuss different possibilities for your brows considering facial structure and current shape. Next we will talk about color customization, using my all natural, mineral based, FDA approved and USA made pigments. Finally, using an eyebrow pencil, I will draw your custom brow shape, always keeping your consideration through the process, and working to ensure your new shape is absolutely perfect before we begin.

Step Two: Creating Your Bespoke Brows

Using a topical numbing agent, the brow area is numbed, so you feel minimal to no discomfort throughout the microblading process.

Using a specially made tool, I manually draw individual hairs, strand by strand into your skin, creating the brow shape that we determined. Your brows will initially appear approximately 30% darker, and will lighten through the healing process over the next 4 weeks. During your second session (which is included in the price), 4 weeks after your initial session, we will build on the color that has already been absorbed into your skin.

Your Complimentary Touch Up Session

Microblading is a two step process, and this second session is necessary 4-8 weeks after your initial session to achieve the final results, and set the color and shape. This second session includes the same steps as the first treatment, following the pattern that we have already created. This process will be shorter than the initial first session.

Yearly or Bi-Yearly Touch Ups

Touch-ups can be done every so often to refresh brows, darken color, or fill in gaps. Minor changes in shape can also be made to the original results. Note that Touch-ups are only available for clients who have had their initial Microblading procedure at True Beauty Brooklyn.

Don't do anything! No seriously. Sit back, don't pick, don't rub, don't sweat, don't do anything but keep your new brows dry for

at least 10 days.

  • Avoid direct contact with water, and don't wet treated area for 7-10 (10!) days after treatment
  • Limit physical activity and excessive sweating for 10 days! {sweating causes the hairstrokes to blur and detail to be lost}
  • Do not pick at scabs! This will remove the pigment
  • Eye and eyebrow make up should not be used
  • Be cautious with moisturizers around the treated area and avoid sleeping on your face for 10 days
  • No tanning (or sun exposure!) for 3-4 weeks after the procedure.
  • No swimming pools, jacuzzis, saunas or other bodies of water for two weeks
  • Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for 2 weeks.
  • Always apply sunscreen on brows and no chemical peels
  • Avoid products that increases the skin's regeneration cycle, such as Retin-A, Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, AHA's, Lactic, and Glycolic acids
  • Only if your brows are extremely itchy, apply a thin layer of grape seed or coconut oil as needed
  • Color may become lighter after scabbing, and the final result may be visible only after 25-30 days

Preparing For Your Appointment

Refrain from blood thinners within two days of appointment. These include:

  • aspirin
  • niacin
  • vitamin E
  • vitamin B3
  • fish oil
  • ibuprofen

No alcohol or coffee on the day of appointment

Limit physical activity on the day of appointment. This causes blood pressure to rise.

No waxing or threading 2 weeks before your appointment

No tanning within 1 week of your appointment

No Chemical Peels

Please note that microblading will not look as realistic or 3 dimensional on you if you are bald or have very little brow hair. it will look two dimensional without the texture of real hair to add a layer of dimension. It is, however still a nice soft alternative to makeup or solid block tattooing.
